Don’t Confuse Your Experience with Your Expertise

Too many of us confuse the two, and they are not the same.

Experience simply marks the time we’ve been doing something, but it’s a bad gauge of how well we actually do it.

Expertise, on the other hand, is a far better gauge of our competency.  I have an entire chapter on this concept in my book Not Taught. It’s just too important to not be addressed.

In this short, I talk about the difference between the two and why expertise is far more important than experience.
